i highly doubt it's the torque due to the motor since the tundra and the sequoia is both part time v8.
bulldog is right that the part time system does have the ADD so thus you'll need to change out the front accordingly. having the ADD also means that you can't lift it as high as the ADD will act up and start to have problems like the previous gen 4runners (3rd gen) where they were limited to 2.5-3" of lift.
you're best just getting the v8 and call it a day
bias opinion but i love mine to death and I'm sure others will agree.
