V8 exhaust or muffler recommendations

Alright everyone, I have a 2003 V8 4Runner. It has stock exhaust, right down to the resonator near the tail pipe. Was thinking of adding a cat-back or just muffler and resonator delete.

I prefer that it would not drone at highway speed, or any at that. Something with a mellow tone when driving normally, but you are aware of it when full-throttle or "on the gas".

Anyone have recommendations?

I like Flowmaster 50 sound clips that I've seen, but my brother recommended Magnaflow, i guess for the straight through (= more power) design.

Topic has been beat to death. It seems like the Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Gibson and lesser extent TRD are the most common.

I have the Gibson SS catback and it is what you are looking for - slightly louder at idle part throttle but it opens up under heavy throttle.

I'm running a 18" long magnaflow and its decent sounding at throttle but fairly quiet, a Flowmaster will be a little louder. The best sound of a 4th gen V8 i've heard is one with Gibson exhaust or hit up Dirty Deeds Industries for a custom system.

^this. I have DT headers, factory cats (all four), and the SS Gibson exhaust. No annoying drone at all and the engine can actually breathe. Almost sounds stock after she warms up when idling.

I've gone through two different sized Magnaflows before switching over to a Gibson. Fell in love with the Gibson right away and wished I never wasted my money on the previous mufflers.
