V8 muffler... Flowmaster or magnaflow?

people aren't happy with magnaflow. look up a thread called "Horrible Experience with Magnaflow" By ChildrenOfBodom. Totally swayed my opinion on magnaflow.

I had a flowmaster 40 series muffler installed on my 04 V8. Sounds beefy under about 3500 rpm, any higher and sounds almost stock. Also did the resonator delete prior to having it done. I honestly thought it was going to be louder. So i went ahead and hacked off the exhaust about 8-9 inches past muffler and threw a turn down tip on it. What a difference. I thought it was beefy before lol. Just what i wanted, but thats me.

I have the Gibson Stainless catback. $380 shipped from Summit and a pretty easy install. After paying for a muffler and install, this may not be that more expensive (location dependent......I paid $165 to have a muffler welded on my 3rd gen here in DC). Not too loud (unless you get on it) but definitely doesn't sound stock at idle.

Come on guys go with the cheap...muffler delete straight pipe. Can be had for $20 at any exhaust shop.

To the OP in all seriousness whatever muffler you chose hope you didnt get a "blowmaster". In my experience they are not good.

I have the gibson cat-back aluminized. Not too loud at lower RPMs. Sounds great and fairly cheap.

Just installed the Flowmaster 50 series the other day. Love the rumble, not too obnoxious. Hum at 2k rpm. Good burble around town. Not crazy loud.

No experience with any other brands, though.
