V8 sulfur smell ... Cats or ...??? Help!!

Under acceleration I have a sulfur smell ... I had my exhaust manifold fixed (welded), and now smelling this! No lights on, just aweful smell and feels like I lost some power.
Please help!!!

Hard acceleration this is normal with the rear window down. Happens because of the low pressure zones behind the truck. Now if it's under light or idle you have a problem.

Hooked up scanner got a catalytic/emission code, to the pipe shop in the morning lol

I had that smell in my V8 and now in my V6. It's the catalytic converter. They usually don't last that long and need to be replaced. My mechanic said it would be well over $500 and he said their wasn't anything wrong with driving as it is, just the smell haha

^This^ Did this a couple of weeks ago and haven't smelled anything since.

Of course, like others have said, it was only an issue with the rear window down and the OP still hasn't said if that was his scenario or not.

Not to change the subject... but.. is there any reason to keep the resonator? Does it do anything or required for emissions?

Notice you're also in the Seattle area. Where'd you go and how much did it cost?

I should prob. get around to doing it now that summer is approaching and the windows will be down more

Very slight difference, maybe a little more "gargley", but I have a V6 so it might make a bigger difference on a V8.

$12 for the pipe and clamp from O'Reilly. Did it in the drive way with a sawzall. Still need to weld it on, but the clamp works just fine for now.
