Yeah its been covered once or twice, do a search
Other important details on powertrain changes over the years:
2003-2004 4.0-liter V6 rated at 245 hp, 282 lb-ft torque (came with 4 speed transmissions)
2003-2004 V8 rated at 235 hp, 320 lb-ft of torque (came with 5 speed transmissions)
2005-2009 the V8 rated at 270 hp and 330 lb-ft
2005-2009 V6 4Runners have the 5 speed transmission instead of the 4 speed that was used in 2003 and 2004.
Bottom line both are great engines.

MPG depends on drivign style..
V8 between 10-30 mpg
V6 Between 10.5- 30.5 MPG
V8 goes fatser down hill
V6 goes faster under water
V8 can tow better
V6 Jumps better
V8 has 4.7L Displacement
V6 has 4.0 L Displacement
V8 is 100% roll proof
V6 is 98% bullet proof
V8 only turns left
V6 Goes left and right
V8 had Pros
V6 has pros and cons
