Valve Cover Gasket-Plus

Decided to have a shop replace the valve cover gaskets on 1990, 4x4, auto trans, 3VZE. Would replacing the valve cover gaskets provide access to a series of sensors, I believe located firewall and engine; if so, seems best to have shop test and replace at this time?

Comments/Suggestions appreciated; particularly if there are any other components I should have checked with the gasket replacement?

There are a series of small coolant hoses between the valve covers back by the firewall (and under the plenum) that rot and leak. It is hard to detect because the coolant will pool there and burn off. Many will think it is a blown head gasket (disappearing coolant and smell). Have them replace those.

Greatly appreciate the input! I will advise the Service Department I want all hoses be replaced at the same time they work on the valve covers gaskets. Other than replacing belts and regular tune-up, the hoses should be original and have not been replaced since the warranty expired some 30 plut years ago.
