That shouldn't affect anything fuel related unless you accidentally damaged the fuel system. Any puddles or wetness on the top of the engine near the injectors? Maybe bumped the fuel rail around and broke the seal of an old cracked o-ring?
P.S. to comment on the thread, if one tries to tighten down 15 year old gaskets, they have turned to stone and don't give at all. Valve cover will crack every time.
