First off welcome to the forum. Second, I assume you are talking about the hood scoop that is usually found on the Sport model. It basically sits on top of the hood and it is just for looks. No air goes in it. If that's it I found a good discussion on this, see my link. The discussion talks about the parts needed and some places to buy from. Also you have to figure out who will install it. The discussion talks about a 2001 model, hopefully it will steer you in the right direction.

i installed one on my 2000 4runner - looks great although its useless....i got it from toyota(dealership), as it is a stock item on the badlands sr5. they charged me 600 canadian, for the hood, paint, and install...they kept the old hood, in exchange for a few hundred off the price.
