Very strange ABS behavior

1998 SR5 automatic

Check this out:
When I am braking AND i reach 6-7 km/h AND my stirring wheel is turned left (a lot or just 1mm) my ABS brake engages for 1 or 2 shots.....
Any idea?!?!?!!??!?!!?

Sounds like you have a wheel speed sensor going out. (It may be called the ABs sensor, they may be the same)

check your lines and reservoir to see if you are losing fluid. Definitely sounds like the ABS sensor/system. you can try disabling it and seeing if your problems goes away. one way of knowing it is in fact the ABS.

here is a link i found to disable it. Try a couple searches and you might find someone that has had that same problem before. The ABS on our 4runners sucks and I like to have complete control of my vehicle and not a stupid sensor.
