While I had my taillights off for painting my bumper I decided to tint the turn signal portion with VHT nightshade. this was more of a test to see how I like the product and how it holds up. I didn't do much prepwork out side of cleaning it with a wax grease remover (from the autobody store) and masking it off. I wanted the light to still be very visible and it to look somewhat factory. I'm actually very pleased with the way it looks, its pretty subtle and I don't think most people would notice it. I think I'll end up removing it, reapplying the night shades then putting clear coat over it (not the rattle can type). I've seen some other cars that have tinted taillights and the tint looks flat, I'm assuming that the UV attacks it and does that. If mine does that then that is probably when I'll redo it.
Anyone know if this will eventually turn to a flat finish?
