Vibes

I posted here some time ago re: my 2004 4Runner, V8, 4WD (80K) ... I've got the same problem and figured I'd give it another shot. So far, dealership has been unable to crack this one ... any help would be appreciated.

When the wheels are turned hard (left or right), I've got a noise/vibration. it's not really a noise but a vibration. it's as though the engine is idling too low and ready to stall ... it's that sort of vibration. it can be felt through the floor, seat, and steering wheel but only when the wheel is turned pretty hard in one direction or another.

for a while, i thought it might be a bind ... the classic 4wd bind on dry pavement, but it really seems to be more of a vibration ... picture a manual transmission right before you stall it.

it's definitely related to the wheels moving. it won't do it at a standstill. i can crank the wheel all day and nothing happens if the wheels aren't rolling.

for a long time, it could only be felt in reverse ... in recent days i am beginning to feel when moving forward (u-turn or hard parking lot turn).

thanks for the help.

are u by any chance getting the driveshaft clunk also?, kinda sounds like a bind but you say it really only happens when turning, this may sound dumb but if i remember right, i had a similar feeling when someone accidently left the dac button pushed, it sort of shuttered when making a k turn on a slight incline. also had it on another vec when the u-joint was bad.
