*video inside* Please help, strange noise where front drive shaft

Please help me diagnose this.

So I have been hearing a strange noise coming from what I thought was the drive shaft area. I decided to start with greasing all of the zerts. I came across the grinding noise coming from where my front drive shaft meets the transferase.

Side note, shifting from 2wd to Hi-4 or Hi-4 to 2wd sometimes requires us to stop and go into reverse or try to put it into neutral, met with a hard thunk. It is a 2002 so it has the 4wd on the fly button.

This just sucks, I have just finished the TBU, put in a new radiator with trans cooler, flushed the transmission and installed a new filter, all in preparation for a new supercharger.

Sounds like you are going to have to replace the tc. Have u check the fluid in it? It u have then i guess most be to late on the life of the tc. Good thing is that those tc are not that expensive, i think your supercharge is way more expensive then tc

That sucks. Truck has just barley over 100,000 miles. I just drove it and it didn't make any noise. I wonder if it's normal slack noise by chance?

What is the condition and level of the transfer case fluid?

What noise are you hearing on the road?

I got under mine and rocked the driveshaft. Mine makes the same clicking noise. I can't say for the sure what it is (possibly slack since it's not locked in 4wd) but I'm pretty sure it's normal as I have no issues with noise and my 4wd works fine. I also have double the mileage you do, lol.

Can't tell if that's air bubbles or water in the transfer case? It looks like water to me.

But yeah your transfer case is messed up. Should not be grinding like that.
