Vinyl and sticker removal

New to forum just bought my 4runner.. I hated the stock graphics and was thinking I had to use razors or plastic razors, but I spoke with one of my friends and he suggested a rubber wheel (eraser) $13 it was so easy to use, I had the graphics and pinstriping off in less than an hour.

Man, I just did this shit this week. I tried using a plastic razor to take it off, but that ended up in dull. I just ended up using a a razor and some anti atheisive stuff for what was left over. I wish I would have seen your post about a week ago because my paint job is in shambles. It looks better without the stickers that's for sure.

Who makes it and where did you get it from? I went to Autozone and O'reillys and neither one of them had anything like that. I saw some on Amazon but they got crappy reviews.

Tell us more about the rubber wheel ? A link ? I am replacing my decals so will be doing this soon.

You can get the eraser wheels on ebay or amazon for around $15. I did the same with my truck to remove the graphics from my truck and it worked wonders. I tried a razor blade, heat gun, anti adhesive, all that stuff. None of them worked as awesome as the wheel. I used one of the choice tool supply solid one. Best money i have spent too.

This one looks like the one I got and has good reviews Rubber wheel eraser here is a short video on what is the closest to the instructions I could find here but it should come with instructions I got mine at my local auto paint and glass shop for $13 you could call around:rockon:

Ordered that exact one. Worked perfect. Took the factory decals right off. Thx!

How long did it take? Pics?

It took about 45 min to an hour with clean up. A lot of shadowing but it still looks better than w/ the decals, the stripes were looking pretty bad. All chipped and faded.

I used the 3m wheel too with great success. In my case, I think my stripes were new ones on top of the removed old one. They were starting to look crappy too. I'm not sure if they were a sticker, or painted on. Any rate, the wheel took them mostly off. It sort of melted and left residue above and below where the stripe was. I used 3m adhesive remover that I got from Napa and it took the residue off. I'd say it took about 30 minutes/ side.

Great post! You may have saved me hours of frustration with a razor blade and a bottle of GooGone that I just bought. I placed my order for the rubber eraser wheel from Amazon per the link above. $11.90 with free shipping.

The factory hood graphics are mostly gone already, so don't be sad, KidVermicious. :nono:
