Vinyl Repair Question

So my ARB canopy was damaged in transit by Fed-Ex, although I kind of blame ARB for their crappy tape job on the shipping tube. Autoanything offered me enough reimbursement for me to want to fix it instead of returning it which was awesome of them.

Anyway, a hole was rubbed into the outer vinyl cover and the bracket was bent. The bracket is fixable easy enough, but looking for ideas for a decent way to seal it up. (other than duct tape) The repair will be slightly visible so want as clean of a repair as possible.

It's a small hole so shouldn't take much to fix. I have considered clear silicone or trying to find a patch that color (not sure where to look though)

I've repaired spots like this on a couple of canvas tops with 2 part epoxy. Never leaked or cracked.

grey silicone.

clean the area well with 91% alcohol, or denatured alcohol, dry thoroughly.

get a piece of plastic, a piece of plastic milk carton would be perfect. apply generous coat of release agent ( I use neutral shoe wax, paraffin works too) to one side, allow to dry or set thoroughly.

apply silicone to tear, work in well with fingertip, smooth the surface a bit, apply waxed side of plastic to silicone, place weight on plastic to flatten smooth, and let sit overnight.

go to your local awning shop and get yourself some 18oz. vinyl fabric . they will most likely give you a piece of vinyl. and HH-66 is a vinyl cement .that if used correctly you will never have a issue with it for a real real long time. I use the stuff it its the stuff you want don't listen to the fellas that use caulk. just cut yourself a two inch round patch spread a little on both side , wait a sec for the tack to set up and let her have it ... Good rolling pressure with a seam roller like for wall paper. good luck.

I have used this method before with my bounce houses. I have just never seen this color and not sure who in Vegas would carry it. I will see if I can find an awning shop that carries it.
