viper remote start

Wondering if anyone knows why my Viper remote start works on my 2006 sport edition everywhere except my home? Only thing it does is parking light blinks six times. anyone that can help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

only thing i can think of is the rf is interfering with another rf. have you tried testing how far away it has to be from your house for it to work? Do you have an auto garage door?

What model #? Do any functions work or is it limited to acting up only when trying to use the remote start? I had an issue with the Avital remote start on my 4runner where I had decent range everywhere except my house. Antenna placement was the culpret.

Strangely enough all other features of the Viper remote work except the remote start. I dont have a garage door opener and kind of out of ideas why its not working, thanks alot for posting ideas, any more would be helpful. Thanks

I know that on the older DEI systems had "shutdown diagnostics" or reasons the remote start did not work. They would flash the LED a certain # of times for whatever reason the vehicle did not start. Maybe the newer ones flash the parking lights too. If I remember correctly, six times was either the hood pin switch or the brake light switch on the brake pedal.

Forgot about that. That is definitley something to try. It will tell you whats wrong. Your local electronics store can run the diagnostics as well if your not comfortable or unsure about how to.
