VLEDs LEDs Question

I have been reading many posts on this and everytime i read more i get more confused. I have a 2015 limmited, I have already replaced my headlights with the VLEDs LMZ 6K. To me it looks fantastic. The OEM was really bad. I did have to remove the "dirt cap" and used a dremel to shave off some platic due to the huge cooling fan these bulbs have. Having said that, these are the questions I need help with.

Will keeping the "dirt cap" off be a problem?

For the fog light, will the Vleds VX3 H16 fit properly or will I have to make some mods?

For the High beam lights, Im thinking of getting Vleds VX3 9005 6k

Please, any advise will be really apreciated. BTW I did call Vleds and the person I spoke too didnt have much info.

You can't just post without pictures of those lmz6k showing off.please do.

Come on guys need some input! I'll post Pics on the headlights tonight.

OK ok fine.

1) Your high beam bulbs are also your daytime running lights (DRLs). Except when the DRLs are on, they aren't as bright. If you put LEDs in place of your high beam/DRL bulbs, they will flicker in DRL mode. You can disable DRL mode (search the forums or stickies), but LEDs still might not be bright enough for high beams. That is why most people here don't run LEDs as high beam/DRLs.

2) In my 2015 Limited, the space behind the H16 fog light bulb was cramped. If the VLED bulb has a biga$$ heat sink on the back, then you will probably have fitment problems.

3) Keeping the dirt cap probably isn't ideal. It might be ok, but it might not be. I can't recall anyone here that has kept it off. Maybe there is a reason for that.

I used these on my 15 Gen 5

I used the LED bulbs for my fog and high beams/DRL and they are fantastic. No modifications straight swap of the bulbs no fans to worry about failing and room to install. I live in Las Vegas and it has been 103-107 for a week and I drive with the DRL on all the time no problems.

these LED bulbs are 6k color and put out really good light. I would still recommend HID for the main headlight since HID still put out 1.5k more lumen then the LED but LED put out about 1k Lumens more than halogens. BTW if you install HID in the main head light I had no issues of the light cut off being to high if anything I would like to adjust the headlight to be 5mm higher but do not know how to adjust headlight height. If anyone knows please let me know.

LED does flicker in DRL but you cannot notice it looking head on it is from the peripheral vision they flicker. I think that is a bonus feature and my BMW motorcycle has this feature on the tail light it flickers from peripheral vision but not head on so you get noticed. The LED lights from Xenondepot are plenty bright when activated for Brights I drive in the desert at night and it is pitch black out there with the brights on, fog lights on and headlights there is plenty of light for at least a half mile down the road way better than the stock lights ever were. My 14 GX 460 had LED lights and they were plenty bright for high and low beams.

As far as the dust cap issue when I installed my HID kit for the low beams I used a 1 inch hole saw from home depot and made a hole in the cover the kit came with a rubber gasket to fit the hole and now it is sealed tight.

thank you, understood, the DRLs will be an issue since they will probably burn out with some time. Regarding the dirt cap, do they make any after market cover that could be used in any kind of way? Like i said, i did install the headlights already. I'm waiting for it to get darker outside to take some pics.

Your car looks very very nice man, thanks for the info. I did see some install videos on the HID kit. I did see how the drilling works. In my case with the VLEDs it was impossible. I will post pics of the back of the lights too so you can see. Congrats on the car again!

Again, Im not an expert. To me they look and work well but would like your thoughts.
More Pics coming...
