Volume Knob Stops Working

Hi all. I have a 2005 4runner with the JBL sound system in it. No CD changer. Anyway I have noticed lately sometimes the volume knob on the stereo doesn't work. When the this happens the volume control on the steering wheel quits working as well. What is strange is that all other functionality on the stereo still works fine. If I turn the vehicle off and turn it back on the problem goes away. Then a few starts later it does it again.

Any thoughts?

My radio does that at times too. I usually don't have to restart my truck though. Sounds like more of a software thing rather than the knob.

Yea it seems to be acting up more lately. The first time I noticed it was about 5 months ago. Did it once or twice since then up until this last week where it has done it 3 times.

My 07 Limited volume knob began acting up but fortunately the steering wheel volume buttons are fine. Anyone know what is the cause and fix other than replacement?

my 03 did the same thing. I was even able to show the dealer because it happened while it was there one time. Their response, turn it off and turn it back on.
