So it is a NC (Normally Closed) switch.
When the switch is OFF or disengaged it completes the circuit.

I was trying to find out because most switches like you ordered are NO (Normally Open). The switch you bought will have the VSC ON or normal when the switch is turned "ON" and VSC OFF or disabled (VSC dash lights on) when the switch in the "OFF" position. In a nut shell it will work fine but it will be backwards as well as the back light in the switch will operated reversed.
I already have the same switch and I needed to know if I should invert it with a relay, so that the switch cycles normally.

This is incorrect. It's a NO switch that shorts the circuit to ground, thereby disrupting it, or so I believe...I can check my switch later if anyone wants me to confirm.
Edit: Disregard...upon looking back at what I did I honestly don't know. Please excuse my ignorance for the time being while I retrace my steps...

Once it is determined I will post it on the Main VSC mod page for future modders.
The mod is covered in detail here. It begins with a rather rudimentary method and if you read on it progresses into using the factory switch. Many different ways to do it along the way.

Also the switch from CH4X4 does NOT directly plug into the factory plug. It is a cut and splice switch. It is $20 vs the 2008+ factory VSC thats about $70. The factory switch (to my understanding) will plug in but you need to cut and splice wires in a different area to make it work. That is all covered in the link above.

Finally got around to installing the switch to turn off the VSC. Works perfectly. Four wires, power in and switched out controls the VSC. The other 2 are for the light that I have yet to hook up. I doubt that the light should cause an issue but I will update when I get a chance. Switch looks oem, no modifications to install, just popped right in.

I'm looking at getting this switch as well to hook up on my 06 V8 SE. Mind sharing what wires went where? Did you ground the Green wire and then the Red1 went to the VSC wire? Then you left Red2 and ground blank as those are for the lights? I'm trying to decide between this switch or going this route with the TR-7 in post 141 here.

Will this work on my 2WD V8? Everywhere I've read about this mod has to do with the 4x4 versions and I'm not sure if the wiring is the same or not.

I’m pretty sure you can do it for all 4th gen models, but I believe the wires are different colors then the 4wd ones(?) Not entirely sure but if I remember correctly, that was one thing that stopped me from splicing into mine. Wasn’t sure exactly what wires they were and I’m not experienced with electrical so probably not a good idea for me to attempt this alone.
I have the factory TRAC on/off switch, but I hate that it has a ‘speed limiter’ and turns back on once reaching around 23mph. I’d be happy if I could get rid of the speed limiter crap and just have TRAC disabled. Or I’d like to do the complete mod so I can turn off VSC/TRAC/ABS all together.
(The alternative, you could always unplug it from the master cylinder but it’s a pain having to shut the truck off, pop the hood, unplug it, play for some time, shut truck off, pop hood, plug it back in.)
Which brings me to my question, does anyone know if there’s a way to turn the speed sensor/limiter off? I’ve searched before a while back, but came up fairly empty handed and only found a few mentions of it.

This reminded me of the Auto LSD button I have factory. I wonder if that would have an effect on the mod as well. There's just too many variables that is not well documented. I know the Auto LSD is not a "real" LSD (i.e. clutch packs in the diff), but instead it electronically senses when one wheels slips and applies brakes to it to deliver power to the wheel with traction, vs just cutting throttle like TRAC and VSC does.
EDIT: So after researching a little more, I've realized that the Auto LSD button on the 2WD models is essentially the same button but different name as TRAC off. Both will electronically control braking when wheel slippage is detected, whereas VSC will control engine output to compensate for over or understeer. So in essence, us 2WD models already have a factory TRAC off control, just not VSC (I believe none of the 4Runners came with a factory VSC off switch, but I could be wrong).
