"VSC Off" on and 4wd lights flashing - stuck in 4wd - w/PIC

Hey guys, first time poster here, long time 4Runner owner. Currently have a 2008 SR5.

After working great through the snow storm here in Chicago that last few days, I tried shutting off the 4wd last night. The 'VSC off' is now steady lit and the two top lights in the pic are flashing. It seems to be stuck in 4wd high.

I was chopping through some pretty heavy snow over the last few days and now the temps have dropped in the teens. Could it just be frozen? I've tried putting it in nuetral and reverse and switching back and forth between 2wd & 4wd but the lights are still on and I'm definately still in 4wd. I've also tried hitting the VSC and center diff button but NOTHING happens. No CEL is on.

Any advice? Please Help! Thanks!

Try driving it for a while to warm it up and then switch it back while driving 10-15 mph.

Your center diff lock is on. With the selector in 4HI drive a bit and warm up the system, stop the truck and push the center diff button (left of steering wheel on dash). The tcase should unlock the center diff and the yellow light should go out.(you should hear it disengage) Then while rolling at 5 mph switch to 2HI and let off the gas pedal until it shifts to 2HI and the green lght goes out.

If at a stop and the center diff won't unlock just take your foot off the brake and let the truck roll a little and try again. Same with the 4HI to 2 Hi...let it roll a little and it should shift. Once you are back in 2HI the VSC off light will shut off.
