I see this is a pretty common problem, but majority I have found also have check engine light on. I do not have the symptom, and the lights only come off after startup and driving a bit or reaching a certain speed or rpm. Could this still be a faulty gas cap? My code reader doesnt show anything all my other numbers it reads look fine. Any ideas would be great thanks.

Following! Mine has the same issue, but the zero calibration didn't work.
I tried the zero calibration with a long bit of wire, and again with two paperclips. I see the quoted procedure above mentions a couple of wires. Is that significant? Do two wires need to connect the terminals, or is it suggesting having a 12 inch wire come out of each, and then connect the ends of those together?

I must have done the zero cal a couple dozen times on my 03'. Kept coming back in a few days w no CEL. PIA
I already have the trac off switch installed (Here's the write up) for the vsc and trac, so I just leave it off now.

Couple of separate 12" or longer wires. You need to be able to connect/disconnect them several times during the process, per the instructions. The length is purely for your convenience so you aren't spending the whole time bent over in funny positions. Unless that's your thing...:noidea:

This happened to me when I plugged in an off-brand OBD code reader. Or rather when I unplugged it. I just rode around with the codes for awhile because I saw the zero point calibration procedure posted here and just noped right out of it. It ended up getting fixed for free after I had my Bilsteins installed. The technician only noticed the codes after the work was done, and thought it was related to the install, so he did the zero point calibration. I can't imagine it would be very expensive to have done.
I'm hoping someone can help me resolve this issue with my '07 4runner V6. My vsc/trac lights come on shortly after my car starts moving. I've noticed this happened after I did a trans drain/fill, and the wire jump for the "A/T temp" light - for leveling of the fluid.
I've done the following without any success:
-Replaced gas cap
-Unplugged battery
-zero point calibration multiple times
-replaced brake light switch
-hooked up my OBD reader, but no codes
I'm trying to avoid taking it to the stealership, so hoping someone might have another idea. Thanks

vsc trck off dilemma
I had my engine and vsc/trac off lights on, plus engine light, not blinking. Codes read lean condition bank two and the forward O2 sensors showed. Changed the sensors: no improvement. My mechanic wanted to hunt around not really clear what to do: maybe we should do a tune up? Plugs had plenty of miles on them. Maybe a vacuum leak: check by eye and saw nothing and the car ran smoothly, etc.
I was about to go to the dealer but the thought of their bill prompted me to continue to explore.
On a lark, I changed the gas cap, no change.
I changed the MAF sensor, which I am told should be replaced at 60K; I have 257K...lol! I believe the engine light cleared after that but not the other lights.
There was a whole youtube video with a guy diagnosing a similar problem, spent a few hours and ended up replacing MAF sensor: bingo, worked for him. That's why I did it.
My VSC and Track off lights still remained lit if the car was in motion. No lights if at idle, just as soon as it moved....lights on.
I saw another video about the zero point calibration and yaw sensor issue. I just had a bad ball joint and control arm replaced. So, I did that and I've driven it a week, probably 100 miles and all lights remain off.
That's what did it for me. Hope it helps someone.

ZPC may have got messed up by an older ODB scanner. I have a Scangauge that will set these lights off on my 4Runner.
