VSC OFF , VSC TRAC lights on - 4Runner 2007

Hello im new here in the forum. Im from Dominican Republic. so maybe my english sucks.

My problem is that the lights in the photo down below are on at the same time. Something they turn off and then they turn on. The engine is fine and everything seems fine. (its a 2007 4runner)

Does this happens to anybody here?

Are there any lights on on the left side of the gauge cluster? I've had these lights come on twice before, but I had a check engine light, too. Both times were caused by a loose gas cap.

Here's what you could do to check:

1) Fill up your gas tank and make sure you hear a couple of clicks when you're putting the gas cap back on.

2) Disconnect your battery for a few minutes to clear the check engine lights.

3) Operate your rig normally and watch for the lights to come back on.

If they do come back the next step would be to find someone with an OBDII scanner who can pull the codes. Once you know the codes you'll be able to zero in on the problem.

I know this is an old question, but I'll still take a shot. Mostly because I'm having the same problem. It has happened before. That time, it was low brake fluid, DOT 3, that caused it. The simple fix was to add some. A year later, though, it has come back. This time, after replacing the pads and rotors. The brake fluid is full, but I still added a little to make sure. They are still on.

As YotaDriver said, you can check these things. I have an OBD scanner so I can check the code if they have them. The problem is, it is not throwing any. Typical, really. The simple way is to check codes and my luck is never that good.

I am thinking two things right now. One, a result of the repairs, maybe a bubble. The other is temperature related. Last year, it became hot and dry. This year, the same thing. It was fine until we hit a hot spell. Sensors can malfunction, so I wonder if they are overheating? I say this because those infernal TPMS sensors always trip during weather changes. I know this is air pressure related, but they do it even when they shouldn't. As in when I fill the tires up, correctly, the next time I drive, they are back on. It gets annoying.

Worst case, take it to someone who works on vehicles and see what they say. I have a local garage that is very good about checking things out and doesn't charge an arm and a leg. It looks like I will have to set up an appointment since I can't find the problem and, if it is bleeding, I can't do it anymore.

My VSC OFF , VSC TRAC lights have been on since last December. Not worried about it. Throws no P codes either. If you have a scanner capable of reading more than just P codes you may find that you have a C1336 code showing.

C1336 means "zero point calibration of yaw rate sensor undone."
You probably just need to do a zero point calibration.

I have the same issue. For the last year persistant VSC OFF VSC TRAC lights on. I ran a scan and got A B1181 (Clock Spring, the airbag light was on too) corrected it by replacing the clock spring and C2121, C2122, C2123, C2124, C2125 and a C2143. ALl related to the tire pressure monitoring system. I have never seen a tire pressure light so it was either removed or the system by passed. Question is would the TPMS system set off the VSC lights and if so, would by passing the TPMS system remove that condition. I've done the ZPC repeatedly without success. It's killing me.

Interestingly enough, I also had this issue pop up seemingly unprovoked, and a few months later discovered my passenger rear caliper was sticking (no surprise on 4th gen T4Rs of course). Somehow, despite the caliper sticking long after the VSC/TRAC light issue, I replaced the caliper and I have yet to see the lights come on again. I am baffled as to how this could be, but I'll take it I guess!

I just had the same issue yesterday. The gas cap was loose. Easy fix...this time.
