What do these lights mean?

They came on today while I test drove after fitting new inner and outer Tie-Rod ends and installed 1/4 inch spacer to front drivers side to correct drivers lean. When I turn off the vehicle and re-start they go away and don't come back on until I reach approximately 30mph and stay on until I turn off the vehicle once again. Vehicle seems to drive fine otherwise except for the fact that I know I have to get it re-aligned. 4WD and 4Lo engages and dis-engages as it should and no check engine light on. I was extra careful with the ABS sensor lead so I am hoping this is not the problem.

Is it telling me that I need to get it aligned? I plan on taking it to be done in the morning but don't want to get it aligned and have to pull the front end again to fix something else.

Did you perhaps damage or unhook the speed sensor?

I am hoping that I didn't damage it. I was really careful in that area. I did disconnect the bracket that holds it securely in place to make sure I didn't put any strain on it when lowering the lower control arm to pull out the shock to install the spacer. I did remember to replace it when finished and all seemed well.

It doesn't take much to interfere with the sensor wire, 90% chance that's it.

MIL OFF, TRAC On, VSC On (and maybe ABS On IF an ABS code is set also)- There is a Non-OBDII Failure in the ABS/TRAC/VSC system and it requires an ABS Capable Scantool to pull accurate codes from, this is NOT an engine or emission related issue. Most Autoparts stores should have a capable scantool to get codes, but you may have to go to an independent shop and/or the dealer. An example of a failure of this type would be a speed sensor or failure in ABS wiring, ect.

Will these codes tell me whether it is the right or left, front or rear, speed sensor or ABS wire failure?

There are separate codes for each sensor but the system cannot distinguish between bad wire and bad sensor, so you have to check both.

You do not need a scan tool.

Short these two pins on your OBD2 connector with a piece of wire.

Turn ignition key to on (don't start the engine) and the ABS and Track lights are going to blink a few times, write down the number of blinks and these are your codes. E.g. your ABS light blinks 3 times, short pause, 4 times, that's code 34.

Went and got the alignment done after not sleeping very well wondering if by trying to save a buck I screwed up and still have to take it into the dealership. Well, once the alignment was done, no more lights. Seems if your vehicle is way out of spec it is enough to trigger the lights.

An alignment should come with a zero point calibration per the repair manual. That was probably what needed to be done.

After my lift, I got the same lights and the ZPC cleared them.

I am sure this wasn't done. As simple as it sounds I don't think I am going to attempt this unless it is absolutely necessary. At the moment I am so relieved that everything seems to be working as should without any warning lights.

Are you telling me I dont need a Scanguage or other tool to tell me a code? I ordered one recently, dont have it yet, but JUST had a check engine light come on again.

It only happens to be when I push the car off-road and get a lot of tire spin/slip.
