VSC - something wrong

VCS - something wrong

This morning I parked my car at my office parking. Everything was normal. This afternoon, when I start driving home, I found this on my dashboard. What is that? Why all those light are lighted up? Does anyone know if this is the fuse or something wrong with system?
On the way home I stopped at HomeDepot. When I started the car again, everything was normal, but after I start driving, the lights come on again. I stopped, switched the vehicle off then on - no lights, start driving - lights on.

I see a visit to the dealer in your future. You can check the fuses. Probably a bad sensor somewhere.

You VSC, VSC TRAC, and VSC OFF lights probably mean an O2 sensor is bad. Happened a couple times to people on the board including myself. Is your temp and low gas light suppose to be on?

Why? What is the connection between VCS and gas?
O2 sensor??? In exhaust?
By the way, I've done alignment recently. Can it cause this?

Oh, there is another thing you should check. Check to see if your gas cap is on tight. I've read on the forum that a loose fitting gas cap throws trouble lights as well. Not sure why, but that's what I've read.

Yes there are actually multiple O2 sensors before the CAT.

I don't think the alignment could have caused this problem unless the technician accidentally damaged the ABS sensor on the wheel. That would probably throw the VSC lights on.

My sentiments exactly AlexJet... I have had 2 Oxygen sensors replaced in about 17 months of ownership for on '04 V6. Basically it was explained like this... Any sensor failure that feeds back to the ECU will throw a CEL... Once the CEL is thrown, the ECU will automatically disable the VSC/TRAC until the CEL is cleared. There are 4 Oxygen sensors (2 before and 2 after the CATs) on the vehicle... The only thing you need to be aware of is in this condition is that you can spin out the vehicle going around a slick corner. Take it to the dealer, they will replace - takes about 1 hour or so (if they have the parts)...

Ok, so there are two things which can cause this problem:
1. Failure of one of the oxygen sensor in exhaust
2. Damage of one of the ABS sensors on front wheels
Both might happen while technician was doing alignment.
May be repaired after cleaning ECU memory.

This happened to me once. I took mine for Sulphur smell TSB and when I picked the vehicle from the dealer right after the job done, I saw all these lights.

Immediately I called the service person and he mentioned to me that it was related to flashing the memory (ECU?). I remember flashing the memory as one of the last step in that TSB.

After doing that, I never seen those lights again. Did anyone flashed your memory or worked on the memory?.

I didn't clean mine. I thought cleaning will return everything to normal.

You mean, all I have to do is wait until an O2 sensor goes, and then I can have all the "wheel-spinning" fun I want?!?

Doesn't sound too bad to me....

I wish my VSC/Trac kicked in a lot less!

This is what I posted in the maintenance section...

Of course anything that interferes with the emissions control system is illegal, so this modification would cause an inspection failure....

I got my traction control computer replaced, and there was a TSB on it - but I thought they fixed this for 04.

Mine started out doing what you describe, and then a month or so later started cutting the engine, applying the brakes by itself, and pulling to the right. The computer thought it was in a left directional skid. This happened a couple of times, and scared the ba-jeezers outa me & my DW.

So it will be interesting if it turns out to be a bad computer. Actually, now that I think about it, they only replaced the computer because the old style wouldn't accept the new codes. Maybe yours might just need to be reprogrammed - or it may be something else totally.

It is common to get an OBDII code if the gas cap is not on tight. This is because the evap system will not function properly with a leak in it. The gas tank has a line that connects to the charcoal canister to absorb gas vapors in the head space of the tank. Engine vacuum will desorb these vapors from the charcoal and send them into the intake manifold to be burnt. This way the vapor in the gas tank does not escape into the atmosphere.

On most vehicles, once the problem is corrected, the CEL/TDC/check engine lights will go off on the dash board. The codes however will remain stored in memory until cleared or after 50 key-starts. Not sure if the key-start thing is valid for Toys.

Ok, the problem is solved.
Directions: Park the vehicle in the garage, open the hood and disconnect both polls of the battery for at least 10 hours.
I did it for this night. On the way to the work this morning, the lights didn
