VSC TRAC Engages in 4wd

Took my 4runner in a little mud today and noticed something didn't seem right. It's been a while since I've been offroading. I thought I remembered both the VSC TRAC and VSC OFF lights coming on when I locked my center diff when in 4wd. Only the VSC OFF light was on but the VSC would still engage when I would start spinning and sliding. I don't remember it doing this before. Any help?

When you lock the center diff, VSC goes off (light on) but TRAC stays on all the time.. Unless you do one of the "AndyMods"...

I appreciate the links. Helped me better understand, but as i remember my 4runner was still locking up on me when i had center diff locked. The icon in the top left (one that looks like car sliding) would come on when i would start spinning heavily.

That light usually flashes when the Traction control kicks in.

But it's not supposed to kick in when in 4wd with center diff locked correct?

TRAC is live all the time. Unless you do one of those mods to turn it off.
It's the VSC that gets turned off when you lock the center diff.
