'VSC TRAC', 'VSC OFF', and 'ABS' lights are on

How do I get ahold of the techstream app? I think I've found where to buy the cable?

Had the VSC Trac and VSC Off lights going on and off intermittently over the past few months, then staying on the past week. Pulled code P0504 using the techstream/China program and cable thats going around the internet. Replaced the "Stop Assembly Switch" aka brake switch. Very simple process, just make sure to insert the new switch in back into the existing brown nut so there is some pressure on the button on the switch. Otherwise, your brake lights will remain on.

My TRAC lights both stayed on when I was finished, yet there were no more trouble codes. After a long exercise in frustration, I did the "manual" Zero Calibration per Mark / Expats thread here in 120, a simple process, and now the Trac lights are off. Maybe it was knocked out by the techstream? Dunno...

Anyhow I have the same problem with my lights only they never go off.
1. My check engine light comes on.
2. These lights have been on as long as I've owned the vehicle.

How do I test the ABS sensors / wires without the "techStream" app or cable?
How do I clear that code?

Possibly a sensor issue

DaGimp, I had that exact scenario before (while under warranty) and the dealer said my right front tire sensor stopped working. Since the ECU couldn't "see" the tire anymore, it disabled all the braking safety systems. That said, another thread on the forum talks about how to do a mod to disable VSC (some wire to disconnect in the engine bay or something) and it produces the same effect. Might be something to check out.

This shouldn't occur, the TPMS on a Toyota will not disable the ABS system; its a relatively self-contained system in the sense it does not affect any other modules on the vehicle.

The only way the ABS system is going to be disabled is if there is an issue with the engine (i.e. a OBDII DTC is set on the vehicle) or there is a fault in the ABS system.

As for the OP we need more information as I mentioned in your Toyota120 forum.

What year is the vehicle? What lights exactly do you have on? (MIL, VSC OFF, and TRAC indicate an OBDII DTC stored in the vehicle, the addition of the ABS light can also indicate additional DTCs in the ABS system as well.) This will help us provide the best direction to go with your diagnostics.

Have you had the opportunity to pull the codes from the vehicle?

My Runner VSC and TRAC lights something similar and it turned out to be a faulty gas cap. A $30 stop at the dealership, 1 minute to install, disconnect the battery and step on the brake to reset the ECU, and the lights went away and so far haven't returned.
