Hi all I am new on this forum nice place... I went to buy a 2001 4runner 3.4l so my question is where is the switch for the vsc on the tranny or transfer case or diferential if some know
and have a pics or a schematic will be nice .

If you lock the center differential then it will go from 2WD/AWD to true 4WD and the VSC will be disabled as shown on the dash. The button for it is next to the steering column. You can override the stock system so you don't need to be in 4WD but that requires modification, if you're interested in that look up the AndyMod.

Thanks' for reply I know where is the switch on/off on the dash but my problem is the lock diff indicator switch on the differential this switch is defect or a bad connection or bad switch . :redbrick: I am use to the 4runner 1990 and 1994 but this truck don't know noting to this 3erd generation . hwell:

So to understand your problem you can engage 4x4, dash lights indicate 4x4 but you can't lock the diff? Meaning when you depress dash switch nothing happens? no lights blinking, nothing?

Tanks for your help the problem it's the vsc track and the engine light came on so if everyting I read the problem is my air/ flow sensor the problem .

but trying to surch how to test that sensor .

Unless you have the exact number of the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) you are wasting everybody's time asking for help on this forum. Post up a P-xxxx code and we'll be happy to help.

Im betting its a 0420 code.

Take it to a parts store and use their code reader and see what comes up first otherwise not many of us will be able to help
