VSC TRAK- VSC OFF- CE light on

Three lights come on while driving to work today- the check engine light, the VSC TRAK and VSC OFF (underneath it) all come ON AT SAME TIME and owners manual only says to bring to dealer? I am hesitant to bring to dealer because I have no idea what they are going to tell me and how much they are going to charge to fix problem.

I just had this issue not too long ago
Try disconnecting your battery then tighten your gas cap and reconnect the battery
If that fixes it, check the gas cap for resistance when you loosen it, if there isn’t any resistance go to Napa or autozone and just get a new gas cap for $30

The VSC lights will come on whenever a CEL is triggered. You’ll need to get the code to see what’s wrong.
Some auto shops will pull the code for free.

Investing in a OBDII scanner will save you a lot of time and hassle. Some units will let you clear the codes on the fly.

I did fill up with gas last night on the way home. At lunch I am going to tighten cap and take it to Autozone to see what the code reads. I read a previous post on this forum and there were multiple causes: gas cap, yaw sensor (whatever that is), ABS sensor, MAP sensor, cat/O2 sensor, etc, I am hoping a new gas cap will fix it or better yet- just tighten again. i do remember hearing a couple of clicks when putting it on last night.

Goto auto zone and have them read the codes for free and post back here. It's most likely due to the gas cap gasket. Press it with your finger nail, if it's rigid and hard you might want to invest in a new one. Cold can exacerbate the issue as well

I had the same thing happen...
in my case, it was a low oil warning.
I knew, because I put off getting an oil change.
This happened the week before my appointment...
so I threw in a quart, and it the lights went away.

Toyota likes to light the dash up like a Christmas tree if anything happens, if anything, just to get your attention to go get it checked. Autozone to check codes, could be a myriad of things, but most common seems to be gas cap. When it happened to me, it was 02 sensor replacement.

I brought it to Autozone after work and the code read P0430 - the Bank 2 Catalyst system was below threshold for a predetermined time. I went home and disconnected posiitve terminal of battery and cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body and put some fuel injection cleaner in the gas. Went out to dinner last night and to work this morning and the CEL did not come back on.
