Don't know if you're aware of this, but the link you posted about the skid plates on the Club Treg forum doesn't help your argument. As a matter of fact it sort of bolsters the point of those you're disagreeing with.
Here's the first sentence from that thread:
"So, I have researched around about the lack of skid plates from VW for the Touareg on this forum.... but why can we not find or source the impressive skid plates provided in 2005 on the Euro VW Touareg Expedition edition? I would buy theses in a heartbeat! "
The whole point of that thread was about how they can't seem to find an affordable skid plate option. They showed a pretty picture of one that cost $4900 Euros or $6000 in US $.
And then they had a link to a single set in Germany but that was back in 2009.
There was also a link to this website from 2004 but the guy never got around to making/selling them:

So I don't understand your intention on posting that link.
The Touareg wasn't intended for Overland/Expedition adventures. That doesn't make it a bad car. My 4Runner sucks at lap times too. No biggie.

If that is the case, we have a lot of geniuses on this board. You keep saying you're done yet keep posting. Here is a video with a few members here in Moab doing level 6-7 trails. Find me some Touaregs on the same trails. If you have been to Moab you'll already know the names of them so no need to give them here.

Sorry guys but the only thing the 4runner has on the Touareg is it reliability and off road ability. Someone thats buying a Touareg has to understand that it probably won't be as reliable as a Toyota but also I don't think someone that's buying a Touareg is buying it for their reliable off road rig. Plus the touareg comes with 100000 mile warenty witch is longer than most people keep a vehicle anyway. Garranteed the Touareg would out preform any 4runner in a non biased test but that would NEVER happen cause again they are NOT the same type of vehicle. Dang I didn't know 4runner owners were so ignorant and close minded. This is coming from someone thats favorite vehicle is a 4runner.

And go look at the VIN sticker on your mom's 4Runner. It clearly says made in Japan. All 4Runners are made in Japan then imported.

LoL the Gemini Trails is the easiest of them you idiot!!! Find videos of them going through Poison Spider or The Chicken Corner you will never find a 4 Runner doing those. I will admit i even got to the end of Poison Spider and quite but then again my Touareg was stock at the time!
Im glad you call the trail they are a level 6 its like a level 2 or 3 go ahead and look it up. Im pretty sure im accurate or close to on the names i havent been on them in a couple of years so im dearly sorry if im slightly off.

I have toured the San Antonio plant and have many friends that worked there when I was living in TX back in 2009. They do not build the 4runner there, nor will they likley ever.
You appear to be as stupid as you are argumentative. Why would you come to a 4runner forum and proceed to get a huge raging hard on by being an *******?
I sided with you once, but you are a ****... and an uneducated one at that. You appear to not have a clue as to how car production occurs.
No car maker builds more than 1 or 2 vehicles out of any particular line. This is for a multitude of reasons. The biggest being geo location. Toyota is a global company, to ships vehicles globally. Same with every large car maker. They divide the vehicle production out globally to help insulate themselves from shortages, national disasters and fuel prices.
They do not build 4runners here. They are produced in Japan. They moved Tacoma production from California, because GM shut it and Toyota has no interest in owning a Union shop... for reasons. The Tundra and Tacoma share a lot of parts and it made since. Since moving to the PRADO bed, the 4runner no longer has enough in common with the trucks to justify production share.
In short, please shut the F up. Leave this forum and never come back. All you appear to want to do is LIE. I know your lying, because only people who lie link to a page that doesn't say what they want and say it anyway. You link clearly indicates the the San Antonio is a TRUCK only production facility.
