Wait for 6th gen 4runner?

I assume you meant chick rigs. What exactly makes it a chick rig? The v8? All time 4wd? Center diff lock? Manual transfer case? Stereo with a sub? Leather seats? Toyota reliability?

I bought the TEP and would have happily paid more for it if I could get it with power lift gate, climate control, JBL sound system, automatic headlights.
It so dumb to have most of the features available but unavailable unless you by one 4Runner over another.
I would have purchased the Lexus if it didn't have the side opening tail gate.

Wait a minute, what is a Hilux Surf? The wikipedia page says its made in Japan and looks like our 4Runner.

And that Prado certainly does look like the sh!t.

But seriously, the Surf ended production in 2009. It's been a 4Runner clone for decades. It had more interesting options and powertrains than US 4Rs.

The front end on the Prado IS questionable looking, but who cares. There is so much aftermarket crap you can get for it (especially for the t4r.org crowd) it doesn't matter.

I can't stand how Toyota options there cars/trucks. Overseas cars (Corolla, Camry, etc) have TONS more stuff in their cars than here. I know it's a "market demand" thing. Urghh.

I also agree that that barn door on the GX is silly.

everyone in the world makes all kinds of aftermarket stuff for that ugly front end compare to what we can get for the 4runner front end.

I would be happy to even have a quarter of the options the prado has on the 4runner, aftermarket wise.

Land Cruiser was my first choice, but $85000, I paid cash for my TEP and I believe for "myself" if I couldn't buy it out right I didn't need it.

The global market is different.

Looks matter less in other countries and performance/function are given more emphasis.

I prefer the looks of the North American Tacoma and 4runner, but prefer the features of the Hilux Surf, Hilux truck, and Prado LC...

I wonder if the "Sport" wheels on this prado hold up better to corrosion than the wheels on my 06 Sport... haha.

If they ever discontinued the 4runner I hope they will either introduce the Prado to the American market or offer lower/cheaper trim levels of the Land Cruiser.

If it's the A760F the only difference is that 6th gear is a higher cruising gear. The rest of the gears are the same as the 5 speed unless they change the ratio at the transfer case/diffs or unless you regear yourself.

Who is saying that? My dealer tried to get me to wait for the 6th gen. Everything I have heard is "New Tacoma, new 4runner the year after." It would seem a little bonkers to cancel a vehicle whose sales are trending up.
