walmart full synthetic oil?

Not withstanding the pros and cons of the Walmart label, does anyone know who makes this full synthetic for Walmart? The price is great, at $14 for a 5-quart jug. The back of the jug simply says its manufactured in the USA. Im assuming most companies are making synth in usa, so no help there.

Ive run it in a few different vehicles and it seems to hold up to 8-10k mile intervals, being about half-brown when drained.

hahahah lol dude dont be cheap just pay a little more and get a name brand syn oil..a 5 qt jug of mobil 1 syn or castrol is only like 5-6 $ more. and how do you know it hold up to 8-10k mile intervals without doing and oil test??? You get what you pay for.

not being cheap, I usually do run Mobil 1. If I were being cheap, Id run regular oil.

Somebody has to be making it for them, and there arent that many manuf. out there. Those that are, are quality producers. Stands to reason it might be a quality label, and it can be had for a lower price. True the price diff isnt that much, but one third is nothing to ignore.

Go to www.bobistheoilguy.com and do a search on the forum site and im shure you will find it.

Im sure it's made by some big oil company and I would be willing to bet that it is a good oil and you should have no problem running it.

My dad always runs what is on sale and he runs his cars and trucks well over 150K and has for years with no problems. I can recall one time the oil he bought was so cheep it didn't even have a name on the bottle it just said "10w-30 oil" but he changed it quite often.

I did a quick search on there site and I think the Wally-mart oil is made by Warren Performance Products. Ck the bottom of the quart for (WPP) or just (WP).

Many people run it with no problems at all.

I have seen evidence on the net that Supertech is manufactured by Quaker State.

Warren Performance Products appears to be a packaging and distribution company. they would take bulk oil and bottle it under private labels and then distribute it.

You shouldn't have any concern with the quality of the Super Tech oils. I believe their synthetic to be a group 3. It's a great oil value and I blend the 5w-30 and 10w-30 synthetics 50/50 with their regular motor oil, depending on the season. (I have 12 5-quart jugs sitting in my garage right now)

Wal-Mart Synthetic Oil


I sometimes use it in my Sentra and have never had any trouble. Heck, the Mobil-1 synthetic comes in 5-quart jugs and my 4Runner takes 5 1/2. I have no problem using a half-quart of the Wally-World stuff to "top off" the level at every change.

One of their store associates said that the SuperTech 'private label' oil was sourced from Valvoline. Rather than worrying about its origin, look for the correct viscosity and the "SH" or "SJ" rating from the SAE and it should serve you well. Change it often and fuggedabboutit.

If a SuperTech filter is good enough, I suppose the oil is as well.

I would buy the Valvoline connection as that is the "stock" oil they use in regular oil changes. It is the oil they dispense out of the hose dangling from the ceiling.
