I'm looking at purchasing a 3rd gen 4Runner and thought this would be a good place to ask some questions about buying used.
About my usage:
Climate: Ontario, so can range from -20 C to 30+ C, snow, rain, humidity
Mostly city driving
Would prefer manual, but they seem to be hard to find
I've noticed these trucks have a lot of km's 200,000 kms +. What sort of work should I be concerned with being done with such high kms? timing belt? transfer case? transmission?
how long can I expect this truck to last with such high kms? do you know anyone with 300,000 kms + on their trucks?
Which years had the most tsb's associated with it? Which year was the best one for this generation? Which was the worst year?
What is the best engine in this gen?
