Want to know how to modify a couple of things...

Had by car now for about two weeks and have decided I want to make some programming changes. Specifically,
1. Stop locking the doors when taken out of park.
2. Stop unlocking the doors when put in park.
3. Unlock all the doors on first press of the remote button.

The manual says these functions can be changed at the dealer. Can someone tell me how to do it myself. I don't want to have to go to a dealer this often if I want to remake changes later.

the first two can be done by you. it should be in the manual. has something to do with holding down the lock button in the lock position or the unlock position dependent on desired effect for 5 seconds or something like that.

as for the third, from my understanding, has to be done by the dealer.

I knew it would be something pretty easy, but my manual (I believe) says the dealer has to do all these things. It's funny how some owners manuals give you more info than others to do the simple things...

The first two can be accomplish by holding the master lock switch on the driver's door.

#1, with the transmission in park. Turn the key to 'On' and within 10 seconds hold down the 'Lock' side of the switch for 5 seconds. The door locks should cycle (lock/unlock). That will change it between on and off, from the feature being turned on to off and vice versa.

#2, same as #1 but hold down the 'Unlock' side of the switch.

#3, have to visit the dealer for.

If you do #1 in neutral, it'll activate door locking by vehicle speed. #2 in neutral, it'll activate door unlocking by ignition.

What's weird on mine is, from the factory it would lock and unlock the doors when taken out of park and put back into park. I tried to disable the unlocking, BUT some how it managed to disable the locking feature with it as well. I was never able to set back the locking feature no matter what I tried. I could turn the unlocking feature on and off. Argh, electronic gremlins.
