wanted to check price on a 01 SR5 2wd

hello guys,

I am looking to purchase a 2001 Toyota 4Runner SR5 2wd with moon roof, tow package. It has about 106k miles and is clean title.

The exterior body has some scratches and the bumper in the back has a dent on it.

Interior is dirty, i.e. stained carpets, seats are ok,

Owner has done timing belt and water pump replacement already basically 100k tune up.


Owner is asking $7500 what is a good price to get it at?

Also i guess he had done the smog on it and it passed with low numbers, they smog guy is a friend of mine, he mentioned the injectors might need to be cleaned or flushed because the smog numbers were not great, or it could be misfiring but it did pass.

i test drove the suv and it drove fine, shifted smoothly.

should i be worried about this?

well i paid i think either 12 or 13k two years ago for my 01 2WD, but mine had the Limited package on it and didn't have the towing package like yours. so I would say it sounds like a reasonable price. i'm sure you could find even better deal or maybe a year older model with better features on it for the same price.

I just bought my 01 2WD SR5 a few months ago and I paid $8400 for it from a small dealer....they had it listed at $9995 and had it for like a year and then dropped it down to $8400....and then I ended up getting it for like $8250 or something. Paint was great, interior was great, overall very clean, towing...so yours doesn't sound too off the mark.

How can i tell if it has the sport package... I guess it does not have a scoop on the hood, so it does not have sport package right?

yea if it has the hood scoop and the silver trim inside with the grayish cloth seats and sport rims then i think its a sport most defiantly, but other than that thats the only differences i know.

Another way to tell if it is a sport is to look on the driver's door and see if it has the badge.
