Wanting to refresh paint on BrushGuard and Taillight Guards...

I am wanting to give a fresh look to my taillight guards and brush guard that are black but beginning to oxidize and fade. Has anyone done this before? I imagine I need to sand them down and give them fresh primer and paint...has anyone done this? Help and tips appreciated

If they're just fading I'd just go with a light sanding starting at 60 working down to 200 grit, then paint them over the old paint with Rustoleum trim and bumper paint. If they are flaking/rusting at all you'll need to do more prep.

Just get one of those cup wire brish put it on a drill and go to town. I just redid my rear sway bar and skid plates. Took the paint and rust off pretty well, I painted it with a self etching primer, rustoleum black, and matte clear.

If yours is just oxsidizing and fading with no peeling. Light sand to get the clear off and repray should be enough.
