Short story is I was rear ended in my 2016 TEP last week and my 1-UP rack absorbed 80% of the impact with my rear bumper cover losing some paint and the plastic top section being scratched. The cargo door also has two small dents more than likely from the arms swinging forward upon impact.
Anyways, with this being my situation I figured I would look at switching to a 2013 TE/TEP rear bumper and flares. I believe others in this group have switched from 2013 to 2014+ so I am hoping this is backwards compatible.
Also, the part illustrations between the 2013 and 2016 Trail show no difference although the part #'s are different so it's making this a bit more difficult. Also plan to replace the flares with a set that is painted as the 2013 TE/TEPS were. Aside from fasteners, clips and bolts which I am unsure of this is what I have come up with.
Feel free to put your eyes on this and tell me if I am going at it all wrong.
Bumper will be painted super white and flares satin or semi-gloss black.
As far as structural only thing I can see is my hitch receiver is scraped up so I added that to the quote as well. Insurance has already cut the check so...
