Warn Hybrid Bumper - hoop not centered?

For those of you that have the Warn hybrid bumper, does the driver side seem to have more material driver or passenger side of the hoop? Seems like the hoop on mine may not be centered as its off about 3/8". It's not the end of the world but once you see it, you can't not see it....

I called Warn and their quality team came back stating that they have a "variance in their jig that allows for this" and that they are all hand made in the USA. I call BS on the jig but wanted to see if there were more out there.

I know Warn makes great products but this seems to be a sure miss on their end.

I did send to Warn and it took them 2 weeks to respond with "there is a small (3/8" in my case) variance built into their jig".

I told them that there are a lot of folks with these and I was going to post this looking to see if there are others impacted.

In this day and age, if they need to "build in" a 3/8" tolerance...they need to find new fabricators...that's bullshit

if you split the diffrence it really isnt off by that much.

this is not a machined part and the jig isnt going to hold the tightest difference.

Yeah thats kind of annoying but honestly you will be the only one to notice. I would hope they would send you some sort of reimbursement though. Also, it may be the camera playing tricks but it looks like you have some wicked negative camber going on.

The bar on top, is that useful for anything or just looks? It blocks out some of the lightbar too.

As stated earlier...not what I would expect from any manufacturer...let alone someone that has the high, exalted name of Warn.

Not acceptable IMO. Their jigs are likely very accurate. Someone screwed up and didn't center it, or the jig is for one side assuming that the hoop is a specified length and the hoop was not to spec. That's my guess. Usually in small batch professional manufacturing like these, you'd have the tube for the hoop cut with tabs that drop into tabs in the bumper so you can't miss.

You can also do it with a jig that centers it - as long as you actually get it centered.

Either way - a well designed manufacturing process is idiotproof as long as it's followed.

I'm not sure how there "tolerances" in a jig. Isn't that what you make a jig for? To spit out the same product over and over.

My old man was a wood worker, and many finish and cabinet makers allow a business card as tolerance; 1/32 or 1/64”. That’s it!

Hand made in the USA does not excuse poor workmanship from a large, technologically endowed, well respected company.

If you bought it from the artisanal bumper store in Portland it might be understandable...

3/8ths is a bit much for an acceptable tolerance. But you’re trying to measure with it on the vehicle, and the tape measure in the photos is not placed in the same spot in the two. Are you sure it’s off that much? I could personally live with an eighth...maybe. Hope they take care if you since you’re clearly disappointed. The bottom photo looks good.

Aside from the slight offset....how do you like it? I’m about to pull the trigger on it. Also, no response yet from anyone with the same issue...I’ll watch for a bit.

Yah, it is kind of a bummer but no one is going to notice it but you. You'll forget about it soon enough. Just enjoy the new purchase and don't let a slight imperfection ruin it for you. Looks really good IMO.

Agreed. This wouldn't bother me. Might upset the wife. There are bigger problems to expend energy. This doesn't seem worth the effort.

I like the design better actually as the fair lead is out straight. The big reason I didnt go with the sso or C4 was that it was a 9 week lead time and wasn't PCed. This was at my door in 2 days and was 1/2 the cost.
