Does that mean you're going to set up a date to get that taken care of? I would like to see how the 4Runner from my alternate universe would turn out. Your build is everything I almost did or what would have happened had the coin landed differently.

Yeah, pretty soon. Need to figure out when we're heading to Moab first as CBI may become a side trip on the way there.

I just got it back last night and took it to CruiserFest 2013. Blah blah blah...
Overall I'm very impressed with the quality of work and the way that it turned out. They (@CBI) were great to work with. It's nice to have a group that listens, communicates, and executes. Then to top it off, I've had work done at other shops and walked away feeling that my wallet had been violated but that was not the case in with them. I'm sure that there will be a few changes to the production version but this is how I wanted my bumper and they would be happy to make yours your way. BTW, life goes on without the ladder, yes it looks good but if you are using it that much, you may want to rethink what you are taking along with you and how you are packing it.
I will get some more shots up later. I hope you enjoy these or at least they give you some good ideas.

Thank you, i am very happy with it as well. They have a pretty good departure angle from the factory but I haven't taken actual measurements so I couldn't tell you either way. The good thing is that its designed to take some hits and scrapes unlike the factory setup. I also have the aux fuel tank to protect so I didn't set it up to maximize clearance. My old bumper was designed for that and I would still hit, its a part of life from the way that I see it.

Got the factory backup cam mounted and working.
The perspective is less than perfect since you can't see the bumper or corners, but it's better than nothing. I'll make a cone to get the right angle and help set the spare when putting it back on and taking it off. Where there's a will there's a way.

I ran the tank as dry as I dared, filled it up with 40.1 gallons. I got 582 mile out of that liquid gold, equating to 14.52MPG. I figure I could have squeezed out another 10-20 miles but I couldn't risk it. The tank seems to gravity fill since it is mounted up higher than the main. Once about two thirds of the aux is gone they both start draining at about the same rate. Once the main goes to three quarters the aux is empty. During heavy weather changes it will throw evap codes but they go away when the weather stabilizes. It is similar to what I experienced when I had the Man-A-Fre setup in the FJ. Overall very happy with it. I'm sure that others are getting better mileage than I am and could get more range out of the extra 18 gallons but it effectively doubles my range. I highly recommend the mod to anyone interested, and CBI did a great job.

Is the camera mounted to the center cap of the spare?
Might want to consider doing like on the BudBuilt Tundra bumper that was on Expo today or yesterday - losing the center cap and have the camera mounted to a piece connected to the tire carrier sticking out through the center of the wheel.

You mentioned your field of view is a little off since I would imagine the tire blocks a bit. If you can move it down by your license plate frame you would be money. Mine is mounted directly above the license plate and has a better view than the OEM camera. The coolest thing was hooking up a little trailer last week to go pick up a freezer. With the backup camera right in line with the tow hook I could back right up to the trailer.

Could you possibly post a grainier, lower resolution, cell phone camera pic for us to make wild ass guess at?:loco:5 points for whoever can point out what's changed.
