WarnerD9's Build thread

I bought the rack to store large light weight items that don't fit well inside of the vehicle. (I should have bought a BAJA utility rack.) I've found the bars to be very limiting. They didn't seem to be necessary so I cut them off. Now I can use the whole floor and pack more creatively and effectively.

We found a big water hole and I got lucky. BFG MTs and ATRAC saved my bacon...

Some redneck CV ripped boot repair.

The CV ended up self destructing, but he was able to drive the truck home without any issues.

Ran into Jeremy that night and spoke with him in the morning, very nice guy and nice well used rig.

Sweet pics, thanks for sharing!

That is crazy deep. Glad you made it through. Did you happen to get any water inside your cab/cargo area?

Did you go through the same water hole as the Taco?

Oh, NICE pics. Those water shots are crazy! That rear bumper makes my Hefty Fab bumper look like a piece of Poo, well in comparison!

AWESOME shots!!! Looks like some good old fashioned fun. I gotta get out to the Utah / Colorado area and do some wheeling with you and Jeremy556

Good stuff man!! Love seeing these trucks used, they are incredibly capable.

Tires

Hey Warner,

At the beginning of this thread you have this pic.

And I wanted to know about tires - I am looking at the BFG KM2's and the Hankook Dynapro MT's. I think you originally had the Hankooks on your runner before you switched to the BFG's.

I unfortunately live in Ontario Canada where wheeling is basically unavailable, so the tires are more of an aesthetic choice rather than a functional one. That being said, I like the way the Dynapros look, but I'm also concerned about road noise and durability.

If you have any input, let me know,

Thanks,

S.

The Hankooks aren't bad, they worked just fine, wore a little funny and were a but quieter than the KM2s but any MT will be noisy. For the size I wanted it was either KM2s or TerraGrapplers and I didn't have very good luck with the Nittos.

I'd go with Duratracs, they seem to have all the bases covered.

In case you want to go try for your self... We went down a branch from the main Kane Creek trail. The whole trail has been pretty washed out, much tougher than I remember it being last year. It was still beautiful and perhaps my favorite Moab trail. One of our group members didn't make it...

Just kidding, but that gives you an idea of how much water has gone through recently. That thing still has nearly all it's parts.

No my friend, it's called adventure, you should try it and you'll be addicted too!!!

I tried to get a HeftyFab. You inspired me but they never returned my calls or emails!

It's an open invitation from my end. I'm waiting and I'm guessing Jeremy is too. I want to see you very impressive rig in person and on the trail. I promise we will not get yours as wet.

BTW, no water entered the cab. Photo time stamping shows that I was in the water hole for 12 seconds.
Here are a few more pics.
