Had a nice day with the kiddo going up to Mineral Basin solo in the rain. Made for an exciting trip. Not a lot of great photos since we were in a bit of a rush and didn't have any other photographers other than me and my two year old.

Look at Kodiak and Springbar tents for your family of 4. I personally use an OzTent RV4 and LOVE it; an RV5 might work for you.

[MENTION=44141]sundog[/MENTION] picked up an OzTent at the Overland Expo this year and he's very happy with his. we spend a little bit of time going through their compound setup (multiple tens joined) which was pretty cool.

A bit pricey, but for all intends and purposes worth the quality best I can tell.

We've got a spring bar and an air mattress. I can sleep anywhere but after a few outings with the wife and my determination to camp we ended up with this.

I will be taking my boy out and I just ordered (which is on back order) ARB's room with a floor for the awning. I want to give him a more authentic camping experience without losing the space the spring bar takes up or the idea of having a big heavy canvas box on my roof rack. The Spring bar is awesome as a multi day same location base camp, but I like to stay at different sites each night.

Yeah I would love to be able to afford a Sportsmobile for family camping. Normally when we take the grandkids out we take the Tundra with our Northstar pop-up in the bed. Sportmobile though is the ticket and I've been wanting one for many years.

Did you find a good deal on that thing? If your patient and have the cash when you happen to find he killer deal you can score. No matter what, it seems the diesel ones are always pretty expensive new or used.

Such an awesome build. Congrats. It's also awesome you want to share the experience with your kid. I just returned from a Southern Colorado trip (many of the trails around Lake City, Ouray, Silverton, Creede) and took my 22 month old daughter and wife. The kid had a blast and we created lots of memories.

I'm interested in the ARB Awning with a Floor as well. There doesn't seem to be much info or many pics out there other than the stock ARB photo. I wonder - would it truly be water-tight, or at the least, very water resistant? It talks about an integrated roof and I BELIEVE it's four walls but again - can't find many pictures.

If/when you get it in and installed, I'll be anxious to see some pics and here a report.

I might have missed it but what type of lights are mounted in the rear bumper? Any pics on the mounting device from the inside of the bumper for these lights? Super impressed by this thing! It really looks like a great truck!

Those should be rigid industries dually lights. I thought CBI built them into his bumper as it is the prototype.

Sure, they look like rigid industries. More specifically, are the Dually's, D2, D2 HD, spot, flood, diffuse, driving or wide versions? I'm looking at putting a pair of D2 HD, flush mount diffusing in my rear bumper and wondering what these are.

AND, any pics of the nocturnal light pattern once we know the specific version?

His appear to be Dually floods. I am running Dually diffused. I think the diffused are great for a backup light because there is a lot of light spread in every direction.

Yes, upon closer inspection of Rigid's website WarnerD9's don't have a diffuse lens and there are only 4 LED's per light. So, I agree Dually floods are the best guess.

Tire Update

The BFGs were starting to become a problem as they were creating a lot of vibration and I couldn't seem to get them well balanced. They're great for rocks and mud but the fact that they're on my daily was wearing on me so I decided to go with some 295/75/17 Nittos.

Not as aggressive as i'd like but they are certainly smoother and quieter.

Roof Rack

I am very impressed with the K9 roof rack. I was able to handle the main roof section easily with one hand. A different story for the Gobi removal process. I'm really liking the ability to drop bolts into the rails and mount about whatever as you'd please.

If the Gobi and the K9 started the same job the same day I would imagine that the Gobi would do well and look great but the K9 would end up owning the company. It's just that much smarter and better.

I mounted the 20" under the rack and there is just barely enough clearance but it fits like a glove. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to mount my (2) 4" Rigids to the side of the 20" or not.

Really depends on what I do with the snorkel.

Snorkel

I'm planning on taking it to a custom body shop and having the snorkel modified so that the fender entry is behind the wheel and have a connector from there to the air box inside the fender.

Maintenance

I've had some popping in the front end. Figured CVs were getting tired so I swapped them out only to find the popping didn't go away. I've also replaced every joint, bearing, and bushing in the front end so it's a mystery to me. Anyone else had a mystery knock/pop in the front end and had any luck getting it taken care of?

I'll get some pics up shortly.

i've got a deep popping/rattle up front that i noticed got worse after a recent trip where the campground roads were higher speed and very jarring/washboard type. It mainly hapens when i'm going over quick bumps in he road or over an bumpy section or washboarded area.. i did just recently put that suspension in but i've felt it coming on b4 that. so i am gonna tighten everything up now that i've driven on it and see if that takes care of it.. my next move is to take off my VERY beat up skids an see if that's what it is.

How are you liking the Terra Grapplers? It doesn't look like there aren't too many other options in the 295/70 R17 size for an all-terrain... I've been looking for kind of the same thing, were there any other ones you were strongly considering? Love this build thread!

Tony if your pop comes back look at your cam tabs. Mine are bent to all hell. I think my LCAs are literally moving because they are not in contact. Going to have the Total Chaos tabs welded on soon.

Might have to put the Total Chaos LCAs on while it is all apart.
