It's the standard PowerTank mount. I drilled into the horizontal bar and it held well. Then I decided to go to an ARB twin and I'll never go back.

They are a GOOD all around tire. Not great at anything but it's a good compromise. I just out a set of the second gen TerraGrapplers on my G Wagen and I like the first ten better. 2nd gen look like GY wrangler AT/S. Both seem to wear well. I don't like terra grappler ATs on rock or mud but awesome for DD, snow, rain and dirt roads.
Cooper STT MUDs have been my favorite aggressive tire. BFG ATs are the worst. BFG KM2s look cool and are great on rocks but suck at everything else. I'd like to try GY Wrangler MTRs next.

I honestly don't remember. But they are still going strong! All I remember is trying to line up the stupid trim pieces that never sit right. Lights were cake screws or double sided HD tape. I'll let you know if I can recall. Sorry.

I know it's ancient history for you, but how did you mount the winch in the factory bumper? Is there a company that makes a plate, or was it fabricated for you?

Which size? The 285/75? I was looking at grabbing a set of those soon...
This is what I'm running and so far they've been excellent at everything. Wishing I would have went with the 295 instead of the 285 though.
Loud as hell, and the tread is starting to get pretty chewed up from the rocks, but wearing very well other than that and a very nice ride on the highway.
I'm also looking at MTR's next, or perhaps maybe the KM2's in the 305/70 size. Too bad they don't offer a 285/75 in the MTR like they do with the KM2, or my decision would be made.
Can you give a bit more detail on what you don't like about the KM2? I like to ask everyone I can, since it's one of those tires where for every person who badmouths it, there's another who will sing its praises all day long and I'm not really sure what to think. Cheers.

My 4R TE build is starting but I'm having trouble deciding on a suspension. Orig. plan was OME heavy or med. heavy but read your critique and now having doubts. I was hoping for an engineered full kit from a single company that could carry weight for overlanding and not require lots of maintenance and constant adjustments...but I also want a "real suspension"? I drive slowly but go in some very hairy places. Reliability is critical since I am not a mechanic by any stretch. If you could start from scratch and were going with 33/34x10 tires, wanting good wheel travel, keeping KDSS, excellent on hwy. and willing to spend $2-5K what would you (or others please) recommend? Note: Called CBI about a rear bumper and now they may be doing my entire build since I can leave rig with them for a month or two (bumpers, rails, locker, skids, snorkel and more-waiting for quote from Nathan). Seriously considering selling the 4Runner. Plan is to get a 200 Series Land Cruiser. Family and business needs have changed.

If you are seriously interested, understand the value of what's been done and don't want the headache and excess cash burn PM me and we'll talk. I UNDERSTAND THAT I WONT GET EVERY PENNY BACK OUT OF IT.
All maintenance performed at local Toyota dealer by one individual master tech. They also installed everything except for roof rack and snorkel. (I don't do electrical.) This truck is dialed in. Paint has lots of trail stripes for character and a handful of minor dents. Currently has about 65k miles on it. (Just breaking in)
Not in a rush to sell, more interested in getting it to the right buyer. I don't plan on listing it on the classifieds for this reason.

Ah, that's a bummer to hear. You'll still be getting into an extremely nice vehicle. Just put a high price on it so it forces you to keep it a little longer lol.

I understand getting the 200 since you still has the 1st gen to wheel hard! They are extremely nice and I seriously considered it before I got the runner. I hope if you go through with it the right buyer appreciates it for what it is!

I'm traveling at least 11hrs/week by auto for work and I hate putting those kind of miles on that rig.
The aux fuel tank is dialed in, suspension is dialed in, lighting is spectacular, protection is all there. It does it all. Just need to find the right buyer.
