Warning Light While Off-Road

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum. I have a 06 limited 4WD and LOVE my truck. I've got a long list of mods (some already order) to be done. I'm goint to drive this 4runner to 250,000 miles and log fixes, tune-ups, mods, and mileage along the way. It should be fun.

Now to my question. I was playing in a service road for the power company. Nothing worth taking a picture of.. but I wanted to see what the truck would do in 2wd. I wanted to see how much of a grade/hill the 4runner would climb in 2wd compared to my Tacoma. (R.I.P. 2010) While playing a light clicked/flashed on. The "Slip Indicator Light" followed by a clicking noise. The tire loosing traction was the front driverside tire.

I wanted to know if this was normal? Did I need to turn VSC off? Was the noise something like tire rub (which I don't think it was) or a limited slip kicking in?

Thanks for you help and I lurked here before I purchased my rig. So I know you guys are loaded with off-road info.

So.. what that said was if you wanna play in 2wd, get stuck, then click in to 4wd and drive away get another car? The VSC pulls power and in a way makes you stuck-er (yup made that word up). That suck I have to go to 4wd, turn onthe center locker, and make sure I keep the tires spinning.
