OK All! I am on my 2nd set of 20" rims 1st set was Panther Vectors, and now I have Zinik Mozotti's with the same tire as the 1st set Goodyear Eagle GTII 275/45/20. The 1st set I had a problem with them vibratinging bad at 55-60mph. Well the place I got them from said the wheels were defective so I got the Zinik's instead. The very next day I has the same damn vibration issue as the 1st set. I took to to get them road forced balanced at a different palce today and they would not touch them till it got hub rings because I have a 1/8in gap between the wheel and the hub. I am truley lost now! I am getting mixed stories that I need hub rings and that I do not need them. Can someone with 20-22" wheels tell me if they have hubrings installed on there wheels and if so where did you get them, and if not what rims you have inttalled. Any help is appreciated...

I got the 22's in my avatar about a week and a half ago. I watched them take them from the box to the balancer to my 4runner and they had no hubrings. I also have no vibrations. Maybe your problem stems from something else. You should check out http://www.demodawheels.com/ they have nice rims with black finishes. I went with the intimidator 2 machined faced. With installation and everything it came out to $2800. I was saving up for an Apple G5 but felt the 4runner was more important.

If you have the proper set of wheels to fit your 4Runner then you should not need the rings. I have went from the stock wheels, to 20inch wheels, and now have 22inch wheels. I've put 15K miles on the clock with none of the problems you have mentioned.

My advice is to take your truck to someone who actually knows something about a wheel/tire package. It's not rocket science! I'm also sorry to hear of your troubles.

well you will never belive this...The Zinik Mosotti's did the same damn thing. They even had the Hunter Represenitive come out and balance the tires and still got bad vibration at 55-60. They are now going to give me a full credit...

First off, The wheels you purchased were made in China, using cheap quality materials, labor and machines. Try a set of Antera's, Momo's or BBS's from CEC.

Second, When you step up to a 20+" wheel you add TREMENDOUS unsprung weight to your suspension. (Chrome Rims are HEAVY and they corrode around the bead, causing pressure leaks.)

The fact that they cannot be balanced is simple, when you buy cheap rims they are made with zero quality control. (Why do you think 18 wheelers, buses, Fire Apparatus, Etc. use ALCOA rims?)

I thought Zinik was a pretty expensive/nice/luxury wheel company.

I talked to the store today and they said theyve never heard of a wheel not able to be balanced? does that mean im going to hand them my $2500 and they will take it and run?

Do you know anyone who is running a pair of Antera's?

Im trying to get a visual with them on a truck, specifically the Type 501's.
