Warped Plastic

I found this on the passenger side window/plastic panel. Anyone know what it could be from? It looks like it was burned/vandalized.

Looks like someone took a Propane Torch to it. Good news- those panels are inexpensive and easy to replace.

Sorry this happened - you likely have no choice but to park outside at night.

As other poster said, they went after the lowest-cost, easy to replace part. I would bet other vehicles parked nearby also had damage.

Over on the RAV4 forum there are numerous reports of this kind of damage due to solar reflection off of tall building windows.

I worked with someone a few years ago. He lived in a new development. There was some vinyl siding on his house.
The suns reflection off of his neighbors window caused his siding to deform. I was shocked.

To OP:
My truck has the same issue, I am sure it is heat related.
In my case, the damage is very superficial\minor, you can only see it only from a certain angle, but it is there, see picture below:

I thought the same. But I didn’t see any smoke/ash residue. Could a propane tank burn still be possible without ash/smoke residue?
