Was there a 'Green' SR5 steering wheel?

So, I grabbed a steering wheel off what I thought was a black 1999 S5R at a PYP yard on an overcast day last weekend. When I installed it in the sun yesterday, it seems to have a green hue (that doesn't fully come through in pictures) especially when next to my tan airbag. Are my eyes playing tricks on me? The wheel has a smooth and somewhat squishy texture and feels so much better than my totally worn out leather Limited wheel did. Did they come in 'green'? Maybe I'm just old.....

That's just wear/age. The non-leather wheel originally had a texture nearly the same as the leather, but that wears down smooth with age. The outer black layer is just getting thin and the inner lighter foam is starting to show a bit. Still better than a busted leather wheel - but now is your time/chance to put new leather on the original wheel:

LOL - OK, thanks for clearing that up. To be honest, I once tried to install a leather wheel-cover kit on my 2nd Gen and gave up. I'll run this $25 junkyard wheel until I find a find a fancy wood one on a Lexus. I can sew pretty well by hand to do a repair, but I see a lot of frustration ahead with another wheel-cover kit (although that one looks very nice!).

I did a leather wrap on mine and it was well worth the time and effort. I wrapped it with the steering wheel off and it made the process way simpler than i thought it would be.
The wheel feels way better while driving and the grip is much better than before.

I can sew pretty well by hand to do a repair, but I see a lot of frustration ahead with another wheel-cover kit (although that one looks very nice!).

They are somewhat tedious, but with the wheel off, cold drink, and some
good tunes or a favorite movie, it's pretty worth it.
I used a kit from East Detailing (no affiliation) and have been very
impressed with the results - especially with dirty, grimy hands touching
it more than I would prefer
