watches...

The hype of the apple watch series 4 has kind of worn off for me.

I'm back to wearing my g-shocks b/c.....

1. apple watch is only worth it if you have other friends who have it, and you can use the walkie-talkie mod, and other fun apps.

2. battery life is inconsistent although way better than the previous generations and there is something about having one more device you have to worry about to keep charged that nags me.

3. i hate flicking my wrists to get a time, especially since I work in the medical field where I have to take down time and date for every drug order I receive. At the same time, disabling the wrist flicking features results in less battery life....

so basically, its great as a lifestyle piece of tech, but it sucks as if you have to use it as an actual watch, especially if you have to use it as frequently as I do.

Series 4 main focus is fitness and heart rate monitoring (including ECG feature)...not walkie talkie, which is kinda gimmicky to be honest.

Battery life is one day. Remember though, it does a lot more stuff than your G-shock (e.g. monitoring your health, notifications, Apple Pay, etc.)...alternatively, you can put your Watch in low battery state and get a week's worth of battery life! But if you do that, then it is no smarter than your G-shock. So, while true that you have one more thing to charge, you do have more advance features on the Apple Watch that are simply not available on G-shock.

The last part is true. You do have to rotate your wrist to see the time. What you could do is turn on the feature WAKE SCREEN where when you tap on the screen, the screen will stay away for 70 seconds...so that you can still see time (for 70 sec after tapping display) if you have to enter a lot of orders in within a small time frame.

Did you return the Apple Watch or keep it? If keep, then are you selling it?

I’m gonna keep it, it’s a nice watch it just doesn’t suit my workstyle where I spend the majority of my life

Love watches! My collection consists of Omega Planet Ocean, Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea, Tag Heuer Monaco, and Jeager LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon. The first two are my daily wearers, the Monaco I gave to my wife because she can wear it with a sports leather band (she has tiny wrists), and the last is for more formal occasions under a suit. I also have a black Casio G-Shock that I wear at the gym or camping. It's bulletproof.

I've always loved watches with the old notion that every gentleman should own a good time piece. I'm finally just getting around to being able to build a collection. Currently I'm sporting a Seiko SBDC051 (62 MAS tribute), a still working original 1968 Bulova Accutron Spaceview, and a Movado Luno as my dailys. I've been itching to make a move on my next piece because of a few big upcoming life events and can't decide between the Rolex Milgauss and Omega Speedmaster sapphire sandwich. These two are my grail watches.

Love watches--a few of my favorite pics of a couple of the watches I own or have owned over the years

Love the Explorer and the Speedy’s are timeless!

Still have the Explorer, but the Speedy is gone. It was the watch that really brought me into loving watches. Back when I was a kid my dad bought one of the Speedy Reduced watches and I fell in love with the history so I knew I had to own one of my own. Unfortunately I have pretty small wrists and 42mm is just too large of a case for me.
