Water intrusion problem

So I just got back from going through the automatic car wash and when I was exiting through the drying fan I noticed water coming in at the top of the pillar here. I opened my door when I got out and I don't think it was coming through the door seal, so it must be coming from somewhere on the roof. The roof rack mount perhaps? Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Do you have a sunroof? I have seen other posts from people with similar problem and resulted in being faulty seals.

The sunroof gutter drains are more than likely stopped up with debris.

Exactly! open the sunroof and towards the front corners you should see the holes. if there is nothing there you may need to get some bailing wire and run it down the hole. or trying using air. if those are good then go check
your rails.

Check the mount, especially if it's an aftermarket rack. The sunroof could be it too. Check both.

what exactly are you guys checking on the rail?

Thanks everyone! I do have a sunroof. And with the amount of snow and ice I had to chisel off my truck before going in the car wash I'm guessing the drain holes you mentioned are probably clogged. I'll check those out tomorrow :thumb:

Also, I do have a factory rack, so if the sunroof drain holes don't fix the problem I'll give the rack some attention.

When the factory rack is bolted into the body there are seals that are used on the bolts so that water cannot seep into the cabin. Some people forget to order new seals or to seal the bolts properly and it can cause a similar issue.
