Water tank in spare tire area

The new one might fit, but the old one won't. Not sure how it would handle the elements underneath there and trying to fill it would be a pain. I looked at doing this and ended up ditching my Hi-Lift and welding the bracket to my Wilco swing out so it sits behind the tire.

Get a tank that can support 60 PSI and use your compressor.

Good place for lower center of gravity.
IF container is metal, move it closer to the exhaust pipe.

I've personally thought about putting an air tank in that space ran to my compressors, the going the roof route for water. You could have gravity on your side if you decide not to pressurize and filling would be much easier.

Greetings, all. I'm new to the board and I'm not allowed to post a new thread yet so I'm reviving this one.
I too am looking for a permanent water tank option for the spare tire well on my '21 ORP. I have a couple thoughts on design but I'm looking for options to install a permanent, potable water tank.
Design thoughts:
- Sealed tank except for the breather which would be located in the cab between the trim panels and the body.
- Pump would be installed where the stock jack is located.
- Install 2 hydraulic quick disconnects for the dispenser/sprayer and for the fill funnel. Both installed in the cab on the drivers side wheel well. The fill funnel will be facing the front so I can access through the rear door vs. moving my tire swingout and opening the liftgate. The sprayer will be facing the rear hatch and primary access will be when the hatch is open.
Has anyone found a source for a tank that installs in the spare tire well? In a perfect world, it would be aluminum with internal baffles to prevent sloshing and would only be 10 gallons. I have a great fab shop and I'm certain they could make this but it would be $$$ for a one off design vs. finding something that currently manufactured.
I'd use the rest of the space for an air tank with an inboard air manifold running to all 4 wheel wells. The compressor would install in the rear passenger cubby.
Both the pump and the compressor will be hard switched in the rear. I already have a Blue Sea power/fuse box installed back there that they'll wire in to.
Edit to add: I'll fab and install a skid plate to protect it once it's installed.
