Hey everyone, i'm new to the forum. recently stuck the front end of my 85 in way to deep a mudhole. ok, stupid, i know. anyway it sucked up some water and stalled. so after pulling it out, it would turn but wouldn't start. pulled the intake off and removed the plugs, turned the motor to force out the water, changed the oil and filter, actually did that twice, now the motor will start but won't stay running, but, will run with start fluid. took the gas line off the back of the fuel filter, and, when cranking i don't see any fuel exiting the filter. is it possible that i've shorted out the fuel pump? when i listen to the pump when a friend is cranking it doesn't make any noise. should it? can water getting on top of the fuel tank screw it up? need help.
