Waterspot Problem SOLVED

Finally found the solution to the water spot problem on the glass. Using Meguiars Ultimate Compound with some elbow grease did the trick! Worked great and removed all the water spots off the sun roof glass. I'll work on the other windows later when it's not dark out.

Good info! Were your spots water spots, or acid rain? I've got acid rain spots on the passenger side windows, and the steelwool tricks haven't worked, nor has a mild rubbing compound.

I believe a bit of both. That or hard water as well. I just came in after doing the drivers side rear passenger window and also the rear drivers side cargo side window. The triangle looking one was a pain in the ass. Using a circular motion worked the best. But what a difference this stuff makes. Tomorrow I'll work on the Passenger side rear windows and let you all know the outcome. I needed to give my arms a break

Yeah I've got acid rain as well. Is that meguires the best way to get it off? what did you use to apply it?

I used a regular 100% cotton terry cloth. I basically did each part of the window in sections. Such as dividing the window up in half, especially if you are applying it by hand. Tell you all what, I'll take some good video tomorrow and make a How-To video (well as long as traffic doesn't suck getting home) and then post it up.

Basically after I am done applying the Meguairs Ultimate Compound on each section of the window I buff it out with a microfiber cloth. If spots persist I go ahead and will apply a 2nd or 3rd coat and repeat the process until the spots are gone.

Just use fine steel wool... won't scratch the glass at all... I always use it to clean my windows... just don't use it on the inside or it'll scratch the tint.

Yep the brillo pads work great ,and i've also used them to remove paint overspray.

UPDATE

Just finished all the windows today with the Meguiars Ultimate Compound using a 7in buffer from Sears. All i can say is the spots are GONE for good this time

Wow, that's totally awesome! I've been looking for something to fix this, turns out it's sitting on a shelf in my garage! I will for sure need to try this tomorrow!

Dude you will be impressed with the results. You may have to go back over it a second time and be sure to use the edge of the buffer in the edges of the windows. But guys, this stuff KICKED ASS!!!

It looks like I went out and bought brand new windows and installed them.

Well I tried it by hand, and it sort of started to take them out. Looks like I'll be buying a buffing wheel.

Definitely buffer is the way to go to really get them off. That and save your arms.
