Weather Tech Rear Tray

I have the WTs in the front and rear and they fit like a glove, was going to order the rear liner for the cargo area and was on Amazon looking at the reviews and man they replies hammered the WTs for the rear, I actually backed out and stopped my order.

The feed back was the liner did not fit, flemsey, curled up on the corners, did not lay flat...

I really want some protection back there and my OCD will not allow me to order another brand that does not match the front.

Are the feedback replies off base, is the WT rear liner that bad?

I'm at the same point (got them in the front and back seats, looking for something for the cargo area). If you happen to come across something that fits the bill for the cargo tray, definitely update us!

I read similar things when doing research about cargo area liners in another thread. Seemed to be about 50/50, but the ones having the most trouble were the ones that got a generic Weathertech liner instead of one that was "lazer-cut" for the back area. I am going with Canvas Back liners. Read nothing but good things about them. They have options for a tray, and third row seats, and even cover the backs of the second row.

I've had my WeatherTechs for about 3 years now. Absolutely love them. The cargo liner, on the other hand, has been sitting in my storage shed for about 2.5 years.

My experience mirrors what you read in the reviews. They shipped mine, folded in half. I was never able to get it to lay flat, it's like the material had a memory for that fold. I tried laying it out in the near 100 degree heat for a week, didn't work. The little "sidewalls" were very wavy too. The overall quality was exactly opposite of the front and rear mats.

You can also get the WeatherTech universal cargo liner like I did. It provides simple protection and a grippy surface but doesn't have much of a lip if you have bad spill.

Great for my needs and half the price.......and it comes rolled up top side up in a box so no ends/corners sticking up.

Let us know how these work out for you. Specifically, what happens when you're sliding somewhat heavy loads like bags of soil in and out. Does the canvas bunch up?

WT rear tray mat is flimsy— too thin to maintain profile. Curls at the corners and not a perfect fit. Couldn't be happier with the front and back seat WT's.

My 4th gen WT cargo liner is perfect. It was rolled up for packaging and shipping, but only took a day or so to lie flat again. The corners and edges are not curled and the fit is spot on.
(I have a Husky cargo liner in my 3rd gen. It's really good too.)

This my experience for my WT 4th gen rear cargo liner as well. I was worried when it was shipped in a giant roll, but it fit perfect in only a few hours and has ever since. Maybe we're the chosen generation?:angel:

I have the WT in a 5th gen and it's worked great. I regularly haul wet gear in the back and it does a great job of containing the water. It does have a little curl in a couple places on the lip at the back but they are still high enough to contain the water. I actually use the little bit of curl as a funnel to drain the water out after I unload.

I just got the husky weatherbeater cargo liner and it seems like it's going to be good. The husky liners also cover the cargo bins on the side, so the overall coverage is a little better.

Not sure what year 4Runner you're looking for. I got one for my 3rd gen 2 months ago, it was shipped unfolded and is perfect if you ask me. The lip at the help from stuff rolling out when you open the tailgate. It's also easy to clean and remove. Went to the beach for a day, cleaning the rear of sand was so easy because of it
